The focus title Specialized Traumatology started on the 1st of January 2024!
In November 2022, the SIWF Plenary Assembly adopted the training programme for the interdisciplinary focus title in Specialized Traumatology and entrusted the Swiss Society of Surgery (SGC) and swiss orthopaedics (SO) with the development of the new focus title, setting up an independent secretariat and appointing an education committee (joint committee of SGC-SSC and SO). This committee finalized the training programme, defined the classification of training centres (categories SPT1 and SPT2) and, together with the secretariat, prepared all forms and communications.
The examination and appeals committees were also set up. This immense amount of work was carried out in a harmonious and productive atmosphere between the SGC and SO, under the leadership of Dr. Christoph Sommer, Chairman of the Education Commission. The new focus title in Specialized Traumatology started on the 1st of January 2024.
